How to spot a fake Trust Wallet app

Not “is Trust Wallet safe.” This is the clone-app job: package name, Play listing, and hashing an APK you should not have sideloaded.

A fake Trust Wallet app copies the shield and the name. It cannot copy Android package com.wallet.crypto.trustapp on the official Play listing linked from trustwallet.com.

If Play Protect already complained, that is the unrecognized-app error — do not Install anyway. Hash an APK here only to identify it.

Do this now

  1. Check the package name, not the icon. Official Android: com.wallet.crypto.trustapp. iOS: App Store id 1288339409 from trustwallet.com.
  2. Uninstall extras, do not type the seed into a “restore” APK. If you already entered words, the seed is burned. Recovery guide on a clean phone.
  3. Reinstall from trustwallet.com; hash leftover APKs. Verifier preset trust-wallet_android. Prefer Play over sideload even after a hash match.

What uninstalling cannot do

It cannot recall a seed from the attacker. It cannot revoke EVM approvals by itself. New seed, then revoke from a clean wallet.
