Ledger Genuine Check failed: what to do
Genuine Check talks to the hardware. This page will not spoof it. Hash Live so you are not running fake software while you debug a device.

If Ledger Live reports Genuine Check failed, do not type the recovery phrase into the computer. Genuine Check is Live talking to the device — this website cannot run it and cannot “unlock” a Ledger.
First prove you are running official Live: hash the installer below with ledger-live_windows (or mac/linux). Fake Live is how a real device still gets drained.

- Hash Ledger Live before you debug the device. Official host
download.live.ledger.com. Drop the installer here. Mismatch → delete Live, do not continue Genuine Check on malware. - Use only Ledger’s device troubleshooting. Cable, unlocked device, official firmware via official Live. Buy-from-Ledger / authorized reseller matters if the unit never passed Genuine Check.
- Never enter 24 words in a desktop field to “pass” Genuine Check. That prompt is not Ledger’s recovery-on-device flow. It is theft. If you already typed words, move funds from a new seed on a clean machine — triage.

What Genuine Check cannot cover
It cannot prove the Live binary you launched five minutes ago is still the official one after an overwrite. Hash Live on reinstall.
It cannot prove a third-party Ledger app on the device is the app you think. Confirm on the device screen.
