Ledger Live official download and SHA-256 check
A fake Ledger Live is how a real Ledger gets emptied. Official host, then hash — Genuine Check comes after, on the device.

The Ledger Live official download is the binary Ledger serves from ledger.com / download.live.ledger.com — not a “Ledger Live 2.84 crack” and not a GitHub fork named ledger-live-setup.
Hash the companion app first. Genuine Check is a later, on-device step. This page cannot talk to your Ledger.
Do this now
- Download from Ledger’s host. Use the Ledger Live download control on ledger.com so you land on
download.live.ledger.com/latest/win(or/mac,/linux). Avoid marketplace “setup” exes. - SHA-256 the file here. Drop the installer into the verifier. Preset
ledger-live_windowsfills the catalog digest. Also compare to the checksum Ledger publishes for that build. - Then connect the device. Only after a match, install Live and run Genuine Check on the hardware. If Genuine Check fails, that is a device problem — see the error page — not a reason to paste a seed into a desktop window.
Ledger Live hosts and presets
| OS | Official URL pattern | Preset |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | download.live.ledger.com/latest/win | ledger-live_windows |
| macOS | download.live.ledger.com/latest/mac | ledger-live_mac |
| Linux | download.live.ledger.com/latest/linux | ledger-live_linux |
What a Ledger Live hash cannot do
A matching Live installer does not prove the USB device is genuine. That is Genuine Check / Ledger’s secure element flow.
It also does not prove a third-party Ledger app on the device is the one you intended. Hash Live. Then use the device screens, not a QR on a random site.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I download official Ledger Live?
From ledger.com’s Ledger Live download, which serves files from download.live.ledger.com. WalletGuard does not host the installer.
Should I verify Ledger Live even if I bought the device from Ledger?
Yes. The device being real does not make a trojaned Live installer safe. Hash the companion app every time you reinstall.
Can WalletGuard run Genuine Check?
No. Genuine Check needs Ledger Live and the hardware. We only hash the Live file in your browser.
